在我們的孿生女兒出生後的第一次「約會」時,我和丈夫一起去看了一部名為《玩具故事》的電影。我們很喜歡這部片子,但隨後我丈夫問道:「父親在哪兒呢?」起初我還認為因為一個小小的失誤而批評一部很吸引人的家庭影片似乎是太偏狹了。可後來越想越覺得這一疏忽太嚴重了。父親不僅沒有出現,他甚至沒有被提到—— 盡管家中有嬰兒,說明他不可能離開太長時間。影片給人的感覺是,父親出現與否似乎是個極次要的細節,甚至不需要做任何解釋。
